CALENDAR OF UPCOMING EVENTS
- Tuesday, May 5, Monthly Meeting, 5:30 p.m., Parish Hall of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1608 Baker Court, Panama City: We have a very special event planned for our May meeting: An exclusive screening of a fun new 60-minute documentary called The Extraordinary Caterpillar. It is a fascinating, entertaining, and UP CLOSE look at these amazing tiny creatures and the big role they play in our ecosystems and thus our lives. This screening is free, open to the public, and kids are welcome! We had to get this film directly from the filmmaker, as it is not available publicly. You can watch a film trailer of it here: https://homegrownnationalpark.org/extraordinary-caterpillar/ Since our meeting falls on May 5, we will be bringing and sharing Mexican-style snacks in recognition of Cinco de Mayo! Bring a snack to share if you can (NOT required, and any snack is fine if you can't think of a Mexican-style one). Also, bring cash if you'd like to participate in our native plant donation auction after the movie!
Hope you can join us Tuesday to watch this amazing film!
- Saturday, May 23, Field Trip to Falling Waters State Park, Time TBD: For our last field trip of the season, we will be going to Falling Waters State Park to view what's blooming. It is the site of Florida's highest waterfall, which is surrounded by huge trees and fern-covered sinkholes. We willl likely meet somewhere locally then carpool to the park, which is about an hour away. Stay tuned for more details!
